Da Capo of Love: Fujiko's Unlucky Days is the 1999 television special based on the Lupin III animated series. The American release is titled "The Columbus Files".

During a romantic dinner with Lupin, Fujiko tells him about the Columbus Files, information that leads to a legendary treasure called the Columbus Egg. Before she can let Lupin in on the information, the rascally Nazaroff and his men attack. Chasing the two through the woods, Lupin and Fujiko find themselves cornered and hanging off of a cliff. Lupin cannot save Fujiko, who plummets to the ground below when a bullet severs the rope.
Fujiko finds herself in the care of treasure hunter Rosaria, but unable to remember her name or anything about her past. Lupin, Jigen, and Goemon manage to track Fujiko down and try to help her remember who she is, but she is kidnapped by Nazaoff and his employer, who want the secrets of the Columbus Files and the Columbus Egg. The film becomes a race to get hold of Fujiko, the information, and the treasure itself.

- Director Shinichi Watanabe went on to direct the anime Excel Saga, in which he portrayed himself as a Lupin-esque character.
- The English dub produced by FUNimation contains a joke for fans of the Lupin III series who have criticized FUNi's pronunciation of Lupin, Jigen, and Goemon's names. It occurs when the powerboat engine quits after Nazaoff kidnaps Fujiko and later on when Goemon saves Lupin and Fujiko after being chased.
