[edit] Preemptive welcome
Welcome!
Hello, Fx21, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for joining our community. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. First thing: be bold! Editors are always happy to correct or revert mistakes and discuss changes with which they disagree. Here are some links you might find useful:
And for more detailed information:
- Help pages - the instruction manual, contains everything you could possibly want to know
- The five pillars of Wikipedia - our principles, or how to get on with other editors
- Manual of Style - how to format articles, where to place pictures, and other stylistic matters.
You can also check out the community portal, which has lots of ideas on how you can help Wikipedia.
All of this information can be daunting, but if you have a question and can't find the answer, you can always ask yourself on your talk page or go to Wikipedia:Where to ask a question. One last thing: please sign your name when leaving messages for others on article and user talk pages using (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. I hope you enjoy editing!

[edit] WPFF
I gotta say, I'm extremely impressed with all the work you did to check the indexing on the WPFF! You did an awesome job. :) - RaCha'ar 13:49, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
- No, it definitely didn't go unnoticed! WPFF has a lot of dedicated, talented people, but the problem with WPFF sometimes is that they can get tunnel vision - they work so hard on their chosen articles that they don't see the other stuff going on around the project. It results in some great articles, but sometimes a lack of a community feeling. Even then I was really surprised to come to your talk page and see nobody had said anything to you personally - what you did was really great and absolutely invaluable, and something I don't think anyone in the WPFF knew we were lacking. I'm just sorry I couldn't help more with it - I'm preparing to move across the country and working 10-15 hours of overtime a week and really haven't had a lot of time for big Wiki projects. But I wanted to let you know someone appreciated what you did. :) -RaCha'ar 16:06, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
In fact, I think you deserve a barnstar. This is the first one I've ever given. :)
