Guided by Voices est un groupe indie rock et lo-fi de Dayton, Ohio, USA. Il s'articule autour de la personne de Robert Pollard.
Le groupe a connu de nombreux changements de personnel, Pollard seul demeurant en place de 1986 jusqu'à la séparation de Guided by Voices, le 31 décembre 2004, après un concert d'adieu de plus de quatre heures, au cours duquel GBV a interprété 63 morceaux, au club Metro de Chicago, Illinois.
Guided by Voices est un des groupes indépendants (ils étaient sur le label Matador) les plus prolifiques et les plus influents de l'histoire.
