Christopher Brian Bridges alias Ludacris est un rappeur et acteur américain né le 11 septembre 1977 à Champaign dans l'Illinois, qui vit à Atlanta en Géorgie.

Ludacris a commencé sa carrière musicale comme DJ à la radio sous le nom de Chris Lova Lova à Atlanta. Il a fait son premier enregistrement en 1998 sur le morceau « Phat Rabbit » de l'album Tim's Bio: Life from the Bassment de Timbaland. Ludacris sortit ensuite son premier album Incognegro en 1999.
Repéré par Def Jam, Ludacris y signa en 2000 et sortit dans la foulée son premier album « professionnel » intitulé Back For The First Time comprenant « What's Your Fantasy », tube qui lança la carrière de Luda et celle de Shawnna, une membre de DTP (Disturbing Tha Peace) le label qu'il a créé au sein de Def Jam dont il est aujourd'hui une pièce maîtresse, représentant le Def Jam South. L'album contient également les tubes controversés « Southern Hospitality » et « Ho ». En 2001, Ludacris a libéré le single « Area Codes » où Nate Dogg chante le refrain. Cette chanson est l'un des tubes de l'année 2001. À la fin de l'année, Ludacris a réalisé son troisième album, Word Of Mouf. Son principal succès, « Rollout (My Business) », a été produit par Timbaland. En effet, Luda est devenu en quelques années un géant du rap US grâce notamment à ses collaborations avec le fameux Timboo et la reine du hip hop Missy Elliott.
En 2003, Ludacris est revenu sur la scène musicale après plusieurs films avec un nouveau tube, « Act A Fool », issu de la bande originale du film 2 Fast 2 Furious. À la même époque, il sortit le tube de son prochain album, Chicken & Beer, intitulé « Pussy Poppin ». L'album contient également les singles « Stand Up » et « Splash Waterfalls ».
En 2005, Ludacris marquera une collaboration avec un groupe de rock Sum 41 sur le single anglais « Number one spot » avec le remix rock du titre « Get Back » (titre qui fut enregistré après la superbe prestation au « Saturday Night Live » diffusé su MTV le 22 janvier 2005). Ludacris avait expliqué : « Nous avions prévu de travailler ensemble sur un projet, il y a trois ou quatre ans, pour la Bande Originale du film Spider Man, mais nous n'avions pas pu planifier de rencontre ». Deryck Whibley, le leader de Sum 41, avait déclaré : « Quand nous avons appris cette opportunité qu'il nous offrait, nous avons répondu oui sans hésiter ».
Le cinquième album de Ludacris est The Red Light District. Il a récemment déclaré qu'il était le seul rappeur capable de maintenir le label Def Jam à flot.
Son label Disturbing Tha Peace regroupe Shawnna (une rappeuse), I-20, le groupe Field Mob, Norfclk, Lil' Fate, Playaz Circle, Shareefa, Lazy Eye, Bobby Valentino (chanteur R'n'B). Il a également permis la découverte et le succès de Chingy, qui a par la suite quitté le label pour monter le sien.
