My status as of 29 March 2007: On semi-wikibreak (still checking watchlist sometimes but may not be proactive)... have some life stuff changing and just feel like I need a break. Probably can't stay away for long though. ;)
I'm Amanda. I'm a physics major at Haverford College, currently taking time off from school and living and working in Philadelphia (pharmacy tech... relevant to articles I seem to be editing lately). I'm interested in physics, math, linguistics, languages, music, psychology, pharmacology, video games, anime, technology, software, subcultures...
I'm not stupid but I seem to embarrass myself (on Wikipedia and everywhere else) quite a lot... :P
I've had an account since December 2004 (and made a few anonymous edits before then), but I wasn't really around Wikipedia till May 2006. I seem to be firmly planted here now though. :)
[edit] What I generally do on Wikipedia
- read about stuff I'm interested in, and correct typos, grammar, etc.
- use AWB to search for typos/misspellings, and participate a little in bug reporting and the RETF typo list
- keep up with my watchlist (I try to keep it around 150 articles), revert vandalism, and weigh in on discussions
I've also done a bit of translation to and from Spanish (so far I'm most proud of es:Elliott Smith and La Buena Vida), and from time to time I find an article I feel capable of doing major revisions to. I'd like to start cleaning up Wikipedia:Requested articles (fixing names of red links for future articles, removing articles that have been created, and finding ones that have been created but don't have redirects from the requested names).

- AfD and other administrative processes, unless one sneaks up on me and requires my help (too much conflict)
- copyright stuff (too much complication)
- major writing (I like to think I do know how to write, but I much prefer being an editor... I lack creativity, among other things)

(Note 2: What qualifies as significant to me may be less than what qualifies as significant to you, as (like I said above) most of my edits are very small. A big copyedit, continual maintenance, or adding references may be enough for me to add an article here.)

- Fat Cat Discography, Fat Cat Records, Jagjaguwar, etc. (see Category:Independent record labels and Category:Discographies by record label... oy): disambig pretty much all the links and update rosters from their sites
- clean up Wikipedia:Requested articles
- nominate Drinker House for deletion
- Robin Guthrie: cleanup and resolve copyvio
- translate information from es:Ojos de Brujo to Ojos de Brujo and vice versa
- Shiina Ringo: all names are modern and should be given-name-first per MOS:Japan-related articles, so change instances and move page
- Zelda Van Gutters: tag for merge with Nickelodeon Magazine
- Edward Roy Becker: proper citation format (no idea how to do this... learning experience XP)
- Chemical dependency, physical dependence, physical dependency (redirects to addiction), addiction, dependence (doesn't exist, but dependency disambig page points to it)... this is a mess, not helped by the fact that there doesn't seem to be consensus between (or even within?) fields about the terms
- Merge (probably): hallucinogenic effects of banana peels, bananadine; relevant sections of drug urban legends, Berkeley Barb
- Was Donovan inspired to write "Mellow Yellow" because of a banana-shaped vibrator (Berkeley Barb) or because he was jaundiced (Mellow Yellow)? I mean, really.
- Hard and soft g: add bit about Spanish
- possibly add some photos to Category:Martial arts equipment
