Gary Johnston

Gary Johnston is a Scottish film maker, comedy writer and journalist. He worked for BBC Scotland in early 1990s on programmes such as Scotch'N'Wry, Naked Video and The Craig Ferguson Experience before joining Cat A Theatre Company as as a drama teacher and creative facilitator. Cat A were renowned for developing experimental commissions with prison inmates and in 1998, Gary was seconded for 2 years to the Rannoch Unit at Polmont Young Offenders Institution producing Tell No-one, a challenging dramatic ensemble developed and performed by long term prisoners convicted of various sex offences. Gary Johnston is currently resident in Australia where he has recently produced the comedy cooking show, Byron Bay Chef.
