I'm Gareth and I'm 25.

I grew up in Dolgellau, but I did my first degree (German and Russian) at the University of Nottingham. Then I spent two years in Moscow teaching English. At the moment I'm studying for a PhD in Evolutionary linguistics at the University of Edinburgh, and am likely to be here till at least 2009.

As regards research, I'm interested in languages and linguistics. My other interests include cinema, history and politics, as well as Russian and Welsh-related issues.

I've created only one big article: it's about Peter Greenaway and it's in Welsh. On English Wikipedia I've made many big and small edits all over the place, and I've contributed considerably to the Dolgellau article in both English and Welsh. I've also created stubs about Llanelltyd and Rowland Ellis.
