Gavin Lee (born October 15) is a British actor currently starring as Bert in Mary Poppins at the New Amsterdam Theatre on Broadway, which began previews in October 2006 and officially opened on November 16, 2006. He was chosen for this role because of his critically-acclaimed performance as Bert in the West End production of Mary Poppins at Prince Edward Theatre. He was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Musical at the 2005 Olivier Awards for originating the West End role. Gavin is currently being considered for a Tony Award nomination for originating the Broadway role.^[1]

Gavin is an alumnus of the Doreen Bird College of Performing Arts, after which he has been involved in various musicals as a performer and choreographer. In 2004 he auditioned as the understudy for Bert in the London production of Mary Poppins, but managed to win the role outright.

Gavin is married to Emily Harvey, an American actress who was playing role of Mme Firmin in London's The Phantom of the Opera during his own run on London's Mary Poppins.
