Gerry James

Gerry James (born October 22, 1934) was a running back for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.
A graduate of Winnipeg High School, he started his career in 1952, James became the youngest player ever to play in the CFL at only 17 years old. He helped the team to four Grey Cup victories during his career and won the league's award for Most Outstanding Canadian twice. He played with the Blue Bombers until 1963 (and played in 1964 with the Saskatchewan Roughriders) and also played professional hockey for the Toronto Maple Leafs (from 1954 to 1960, 149 regular season games and 14 goals) and during his career.
James was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1981. He was also selected as one of the Blue Bombers All-Time Greats.
