[edit] Barrington revives the German Reeds
I remember reading in (I think) Wolfson's "Final Curtain", Rutland Barrington said he tried to revive the German Reed tradition in 1895. He also said that it was unsuccessful, and the magic of those days "died with the German Reeds". Shouldn't this be included at the close of the page? I'd put it in, but I don't have the book to check if I remember it correctly. Slfarrell 15:49, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] German Reed Gallery Stage
I don't know where to put it in the article (or if it belongs) but the stage in German Reed's theater had a peculiarity- there was an immovable structural column slightly off center of the stage which had to be incorporated into the sets as a tree, part of a wall, a column, or (in one case) a ship's mast. This is shown in period illustrations reproduced in "Gilbert Before Sullivan". Saxophobia 22:48, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
