Gift shop

A gift shop is a store primarily selling souvenirs relating to a particular topic, often to simply provide evidence that the consumer has visited that location. The items sold are generally fairly trivial, often including specialty food, coffee mugs, stuffed animals, t-shirts, and postcards. Items in these stores are generally marked at a higher price than its generic equivalent, as much of the cost is simply to distinguish it as a souvenir. Some common nicknames for gift shops are Tourist Trap and Rubber Tomohawk Factory.

Gift shops are normally found in areas with frequent tourism, such as museums, national parks, or historic sites.
