Grant Holt is a football player currently playing for League One side Nottingham Forest.
The Carlisle born striker, most notable for his time at Rochdale, has a high strike rate in front of goal. For Rochdale, he made 83 appearances and scored 42 goals. This made him a target for many upper league clubs, but it was Nottingham Forest who paid £300,000 to secure his services in January 2006.
He played for several Conference League clubs in his early career, including Barrow, Workington and Halifax Town, before he was signed by Sheffield Wednesday. He made 30 appearances, half of them as a substitute, but only managed 4 goals. Holt scored on his debut for Rochdale, Sheffield Wednesday, Barrow, Halifax and Nottingham Forest.
He is currently Forest's leading scorer with 15 goals.
After Forest triumphed 2-0 over Charlton in the FA cup, Holt was quoted as saying "We found it harder playing against Doncaster than them".
