Greg Sutton (born 19 April 1977 in Hamilton, Ontario) is a Canadian soccer player. He is the goalkeeper for the Canadian national team and for Major League Soccer's Toronto FC.
Sutton was born in Hamilton but spent a good part of his youth playing soccer in Danbury, Connecticut where his father's employer transfered him. But Sutton warmed up to his Canadian roots through six years with USL's Montreal Impact, four of them as a USL All-Star and, from 2005 on, with the national team.
Sutton's pro career started in 1999 with the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer, and he also spent time as a backup with the MetroStars and played for the Cincinnati Riverhawks.
In the 2004-2005 season he had a trial with top English sides Bolton Wanderers and Fulham. On November 29, 2006, it was announced that Sutton would return to MLS, being allocated to the newly-formed Toronto FC for the 2007 season.[1]
