The Guatemala national football team is the national association football team representing the country of Guatemala and is controlled by the Federación Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala. Founded in 1919, it affiliated to FIFA in 1946, and it is a member of CONCACAF.
Having made its first attempt in 1958, Guatemala has never qualified for a finals tournament of the World Cup, but has made three Olympic tournament appearances. In qualifying for the 2006 World Cup, Guatemala finished fifth in the CONCACAF final round, narrowly missing a place in the playoffs.
They have won the 3rd North, Central-American and the Caribbean Championship NORCECA in 1967 and the UNCAF Nations Cup in 2001. Guatemala's best finish in the CONCACAF Gold Cup was fourth in the 1996 edition.
Guatemala hosted the 2000 FIFA Futsal World Championship.
