[edit] Thanks For Sticking Out!
It's great to know that someone can lay down the law when it needs to be laid down. Thanks for protecting the LPHS page, and helping Wikipedia retain a reliable standard. :D —The preceding unsigned comment was added by PwnyPatrol (talk • contribs) 16:31, 17 March 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Thanks for the Welcome
Just wondering, from one high school student to another: How long does it take to really get good at editing? Thanks. Rockinbuddy 01:55, 1 March 2007 (UTC)—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rockinbuddy (talk • contribs) 01:54, 1 March 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Thanks for your protection
I appreciate your multiple reverts of vandalism from my newly created user page. I notice that you have some anti-vandalism program and I was wondering if it was easy to install/operate and if I should consider getting it.

[edit] What did I do?
Whoops. I'm not sure what I (user 24.something) did when editing the Crysis article. Could you explain what I should avoid doing? Thanks! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by The assassin 47 (talk • contribs) 01:17, 6 March 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Wow! Thanks!
Hey, thanks a lot for your responses. I wasn't expecting such a welcome. Thanks again for your reply, though I do have one more question. I have been on Wikipedia for a long time now, and have made alot of changes. But, I just became a user today. How do I transfer my former edits to my new user profile? (Instead of being an anonymous IP address) Thanks again for your messages! :)

[edit] Vista Article
Excuse me, I thought this was a publicly editable encyclopedia. If you are going to decide what you want to filter and what you don't, I guess I was wrong! Please don't lecture me on ethics in a public forum again!
You commented to me that all entries must be from a neutral point of view... but, doesn't that mean that all articles shouldn't even have a criticism section? I mean, if people can just trash the subject of an article and call it 'criticism' or 'controversy,' it seems that sidenotes that counteract these entries only furthers the idea of neutrality in wikipedia.

- You're welcome! You would think that a "PROMINENT PROFESSOR" would know better then to go running around Wikipedia talking about his "constitutional right" to edit Wikipedia. --- Hdt83 | Talk/Chat 21:02, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Darktaz
I feel that darktaz's reason for wanting to be unblocked is a very good reason, as you may know uncyclopaedia is a website running wiki that makes fun of everything so there vandalism is essentially encouraged, and both wikipedia and uncyclopaedia both are running wiki they do look essentially identical so I request that you would reconsider your reply to darktaz and don't be so rude, you moderate wikipedia so you should at least have some manners when communicating if you don't improve I will suggest that you are no longer a moderator. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.20.21.102 (talk) 19:34, 12 March 2007 (UTC).

- Hi, I am not a moderator or administrator so I cannot block or unblock anybody; the only thing I did was post a warning to stop vandalizing. If you have questions please ask the admin who blocked Darktaz or the one who reviewed the unblock. I agree that Uncyclopedia and Wikipedia can sometimes be confused for the same thing and if an admin was tired of having to deal with repeated vandalism he/she may just tell them to back off.

[edit] The Welcome
Thanks for your warm welcome! I'm putting the following message on pages relating to Guildford Grammar School:
-
- Just to let everyone know, I'm here to take over from Auroranorth as Wikipedia's resident Guildford Grammar School student. I've been editing for a while on my (ever-changing) IP address, and I decided to go all the way because Auroranorth got blocked for lying. I know him at school and he's rather loserish - but he got blocked for lying about pictures - lol. Anyway, I believe I can do a better job than him, and I'll see you in the future! Seventy dot 03:29, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

- Can you give me the names of some admins that are online when I'm online (usually around 10:00 GMT)? Thanks. Seventy dot 06:14, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for the warm welcome, I do have one question
I created a spoken version of the 'wiki' page, what I didn't notice since I was proofing things on headphones is that the base is too boomy, I corrected this but now am unable to over write En-Wiki.ogg, my guess is because its on a protected page. Please advise SpeakThings:Mellerbeck 15:30, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] what bad purpose?
I am at a loss.NoOffenseBut 05:45, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- Obviously you did something bad (like vandalizing) that got you blocked originally in the first place. What was your first account or when did you first edit here? -- Hdt83 | Talk
Don't you think if you or someone else felt it worthwhile to block me you should know what it was. My first account was in February 2003, and I edited just with my variable IP address at work. Does that help?NoOffenseBut 14:30, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- I wouldn't know because I'm relatively new here and I'm not a moderator. Instead of accusing people of deliberately blocking you and avoiding them by creating a new account, you should just take a break from Wiki for a while and then come back and contribute constructively. Nobody will do anything then to stop you. (Unless you start making trouble again) -- Hdt83 | Talk
[edit] Article Deer
Depending on their species, male deer are called stags, harts, bucks or bulls, and females are called hinds, does or cows. Young deer are called fawns or calfs. Hart is an expression for a stag, particularly a Red Deer stag past its fifth year. It is not commonly used, but an example is in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet when Tybalt refers to the brawling Montagues and Capulets as hartless hinds. "The White Hart" and "The Red Hart" are common English pub names.
That was my mistake. I was using Mike's Wiki Tool 0.9 and I saw common English pub names. I was going through pretty quick, and I found it odd that deer and English pubs would have anything to do with each other, so that is why I undid it. That was my mistake. Sorry, --Wikihermit 20:02, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

- Don't worry about it. It was my mistake to look over it too quickly and change it. Thanks! --Wikihermit 20:06, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Zomg edit war! =p
Hi, I was changing the icon of {{Uw-bv}} since an editor expressed concerns about the consistency of the icons in the uw templates. Basically, uw-bv and some other use the "3D" icon whil the others use the "old fashioned". I don't want to edit war on an icon, so could you drop by at WT:UW#.22Stop_hand.22 to discuss the changes? -- lucasbfr talk 09:58, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Turok and friends
Hi. Do you know why we have two lists of Turok socks -- one of Turok 1, and one of Turok 19? It might be easier to manage one, huge, growing list. ( I left a similar query on User talk:HalfShadow). Flyguy649talkcontribs 04:49, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
- No, I don't really know. I think it is because Turok created so many socks that it became hard to track all of them so we ended up with a huge list of socks. Hopefully he stops. What I don't understand is where or how he creates so many sock accounts. Usually whenever someone is blocked the IP address they are using is auto-blocked but it is clearly not happening in this case. - Hdt83 | Talk 04:53, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
- Dynamic IP? Flyguy649talkcontribs 05:00, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
- That's what I'm guessing or he somehow manages to change his IP address. Here is another sock: User:Godguy - Hdt83 | Talk 05:02, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
