Hitchin railway station serves the town of Hitchin in Hertfordshire. It is located approximately two kilometres (one mile) north east of the town centre and 51 km (31¾ miles) north of London Kings Cross on the East Coast Main Line towards Peterborough.

Generally there are four trains per hour from Hitchin to London Kings Cross southbound and a half-hourly service to Cambridge and Peterborough northbound seven days a week.
Plus there is a half-hourly service from Letchworth that stops at Hitchin on its way to Moorgate Monday to Fridays (London Kings Cross weekends) via Hertford North.
