Hugo Benjamín Ibarra (born April 1, 1974 in El Colorado, Formosa) is an Argentine professional football player currently playing with Boca Juniors in Argentine first division.

Born in the northern province of Formosa, Ibarra went to Santa Fe Province to start playing with Colón de Santa Fe. The team was in second division when Ibarra started playing professionally in 1993, but 2 years later the team was promoted to first division. His game attracted Boca Juniors' attention, and he transferred to the club he would late refer to as "My home".

After 3 successful season with Boca, Ibarra moved to Europe. Not having an European passport, Ibarra was loaned back to Boca Juniors after the first season with Portuguese FC Porto, a year later to French Monaco FC, and then to Spanish RCD Espanyol.

El Negro Ibarra played 6 matches with the Argentina national football team, including the Copa América 1999. While playing with Monaco, Ibarra reached the final of the UEFA Champions League beating giants Real Madrid and Chelsea F.C., to later lose 3-0 against his former club Porto.

In July 2005, and after some difficulties in the negotiations due to the economical crisis in Argentina, Hugo Ibarra came back to Boca Juniors, where he is currently playing.
