Az In the Lap of the Gods egy dal az angol Queen együttes 1974-es Sheer Heart Attack albumáról. A szerzője Freddie Mercury énekes volt. Saját bevallása szerint ez egyfajta felvezetés volt a Bohemian Rhapsody-hez. A falsetto sikításokat Roger Taylor dobos adta elő, nemcsak a felvételen, de a vilgáturné alatt éjszakáról-éjszakára. Freddie hangja eltorzítva hallatszik. A lemez végén, In the Lap of the Gods...Revisited címen jócskán átdolgozva, sokkal barátságosabb hangzással hallható.
