Icelandic car number plates
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The regular Icelandic car number plates have two letters and three digits, blue with a white background. They also have a inspection sticker.
There are numerous different versions of the number plate. A blue plate with white letters and digits is used for foreign diplomats (for example ambassadors), yellow plate with black letters and digits is used for large construction vehicles, buses and other large commercial diesel driven, but they qualify for cheaper diesel. A red plate with black letters and digits is used for new unregistered cars that are either being driven to the dealership or a inspection office.
In addition to these plates, vintage cars are allowed to bear the old Icelandic number plate which consists of one letter and up to five digits.
