Imagin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Imagin (イマジン Imajin?) are the main villains in Kamen Rider Den-O. They are creatures emerging from the distant future, arriving in the year 2007 to find weak-hearted humans and wreak havoc. Imagin possess these humans, fashioning a physical form by searching through the host's memory for figures found in folklore and myths. The hosts, recognized by the spilling sand from their bodies, are offered a single wish by the Imagin. In exchange, the Imagin is able to dive into the most treasured moment in the person's past. Opening the human like a door, a portal is revealed that leads to the appropriate time. From there, the Imajin takes over a host's body and begins causing massive chaos. In turn, these items or buildings that are damaged in the past become damaged in the present and future. By using energy gathered from the past, Imagin are able to grow into creatures of massive proportions called Gigandeath (ギガンデス Gigandesu?).
[edit] Den-O's Imagin
The Rider Pass that Kamen Rider Den-O uses can summon up to four Imagin. Each of these Imagin gives Den-O their power when they are called upon. This is only possible because Ryotaro is a "Singularity Point", able to suppress a Imagin's will when it takes over his body and also not give into the temptation of a free wish. Because of this, these Imagin are unable to take a physical form in the present, thus directly possessing Ryotaro instead. Also, they stay within time, always on the DenLiner, appearing when they take over Ryotaro to assist him in battle or simply to enjoy leisure time while Ryotaro is unconscious or if he simply lets them. However, as long as he retains consciousness, he is able to expel the Imagin and forcibly stop their actions that he deems too extreme. They seem to enjoy Naomi's candy-like coffee very much. They are the only Imagin, so far, that signify possession of a host with a hair color change, whether their host is Ryotaro or someone else (in Kintaros' case, his original host Masaru). This may be related to the fact that these Imagin take over their hosts body in the present, rather than the past.
