Irvine High School, a public college preparatory school, is part of the Irvine Unified School District and is located in Irvine, California.

Irvine High School opened its doors in 1976. It is one of four comprehensive high schools in the Irvine Unified School District and supports a population of around 1,825 students in grades 9–12. In 2000 and again in 2006, the Accrediting Commission for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges awarded Irvine High a full six-year term of accreditation. The California State Board of Education named Irvine High School a California Distinguished School, and the U.S. Department of Education gave Irvine High the highest award for Excellence in Education. IHS has been named a Grammy “Signature Gold” high school, recognizing the music program as one of the top ten in the nation. Family PC magazine named IHS as one of the “Top 100 Wired Schools” in the US. In 2003, Newsweek named Irvine High as one of the “Best 100 High Schools” in the nation. It consistently has standardized test scores far above the state average.
