Category:Islamist groups
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Islamist movements seek to re-shape the state by implementing a conservative formulation of Islamic law. Islamists regard themselves as Muslims rather than Islamists. Most Muslims like to separate themselves from such movements due to the violent nature of some of these movements. Notably Tanzeem-e-Islami and The Hizb ut Tahrir of the UK have a non-violent history to date. See Islamism.
