Patti LaBelle (vero nome Patricia Louise Holt nata il 24 maggio 1944 a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) è una leggenda della musica R&B e soul, componente principale di due gruppi vocali femminili di discreto successo, prima di conquistare le platee come artista solista alla fine degli anni '70, influenzando una nuova generazione di cantanti femminili. È riconosciuta per la sua potenza vocale ed il suo picco di estensione. È stata a lungo paragonata ad Aretha Franklin durante gli anni '70, ma ciò che la distingue e la rende unica e riconoscibile è il suo range vocale di 5 ottave. La sua autobiografia Don't Block the Blessings, è rimasta in testa alla classifica dei best-seller del New York Times per diverse settimane. Oltre a ciò, è un'autrice di successo di libri di cucina. È ampiamente riconosciuta da gran parte dell'industria discografica, inclusi la VH1, Sir John Martin e il magazine Rolling Stone, come una delle più grandi voci di tutti i tempi. E' anche la cantante che riesce a raggiungere il picco più alto nella storia della musica: SI6.
