James McGuinness (Roman Catholic Bishop)

James Joseph McGuinness (born 2 October 1925, died 6 April 2007) is a retired Bishop of the Diocese of Nottingham.
He was born in Derry City, Northern Ireland and was ordained a priest on 3 June 1950 for the diocese of Nottingham. The Principal Consecrator was Bishop Edward Ellis.
On 2 February 1972 he was appointed Coadjutor Bishop for the Diocese of Nottingham and Titular Bishop of Sanctus Germanus (Ordination of Bishop McGuinness).
He was ordained a bishop the following month, on 23 March. He succeeded to become bishop of the diocese on 31 October 1974, where he remained until his retirement.
