Jayski's Silly Season Site
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jayski's Silly Season Site is a Web site focusing primarily on NASCAR news and rumors, created and run by Jay Adamczyk (Jayski), a former United States Air Force mechanic, in August 1996. Adamczyk started the site after having difficulty finding news regarding the Melling Racing team and has since worked to get all the NASCAR news grouped together on his site. The term Silly Season refers to the second half of the racing season, when many teams seek to make changes to prepare for next year.
Jayski's is well-known by NASCAR drivers and fans alike, and it often is mentioned on NASCAR-related television shows. While not always accurate on rumors, Jayski often has the first scoop on new stories due to contacts formed with members of many NASCAR teams. It also is home to pictures of the many paint schemes that teams use throughout the year, as well as television schedules, and tributes to deceased drivers. From 2002 until 2004 the site was hosted by Knight Ridder's ThatsRacin.com. From 2005-2007 the site was been hosted by, and affiliated with, ESPN.com, but ownership was retained by Adamczyk. On April 2, 2007, ESPN purchased Jayski.com, though Adamczyk will continue to be the operator.
