Kamen Rider Agito (仮面ライダーアギト, Kamen Raidā Agito^?, translated as Masked Rider AGITΩ), was a tokusatsu superhero television series. It is the eleventh series in the Kamen Rider series of tokusatsu programmes. It was a joint collaboration between Ishimori Productions and Toei, and was shown on TV Asahi from January 28, 2001 to January 27, 2002.

A man named Shōichi Tsugami seemingly has no memory. He doesn't know who he is, where he came from, or how he came upon his peculiar circumstances. Tsugami, seemingly for no reason, transforms into a powerful superhuman, Agito, whenever in the presence of crime. The primary evil that he combats is a race of powerful beast men, known as the Unknown who have been responsible for a series of murders around Tokyo.

In response, the police department unleash their newest weapon, the G3 powersuit. G3 and Agito don't know whether they should join up and defeat the Unknowns, their common enemy, or to combat each other, keeping the mysteries that entwine them separate. Ultimately, even more mysteries unfold, with the appearance of Kamen Rider GILLS, who is on a search to uncover why his father committed suicide. These mysteries and others collide, with the fate of Tokyo and the entire universe in the balance.

Using the Alter Ring, Shōichi can transform into Masked Rider AGITΩ, an ancient and powerful warrior whose abilities are constantly evolving. In the transformed state, Shōichi possesses the Wiseman’s Monolith - a relic of unknown origin and purpose - embedded into his armor. When his crest horns open, AGITΩ's maximum powers are unleashed. When in need of greater abilities, the Alter Ring accesses additional powers.

KAMEN RIDER AGITΩ [GROUND FORM]

The initial form of the AGITΩ. Of all of his forms, the golden Ground Form is the most balanced in terms of power, speed and technique. With the power of the earth infusing this form, AGITΩ's entire body becomes a living weapon, freely using its fists and legs to deliver crippling blows. Furthermore, when the crest horns upon his head opens, all of AGITΩ’s capabilities are increased to their peak.

KAMEN RIDER AGITΩ [STORM FORM]

It was the second form of AGITΩ. This transformation was triggered when Shōichi activated the right switch on the Alter Ring, 'opening' the “Blue Dragon’s Eye.” The blue “Storm Form“ attributes its strength to the power of wind, which circulates throughout AGITΩ's body and his left arm, as well as imparting extraordinary powers of foresight and intuition. Excels in speed and overall agility, Storm AGITΩ dazzles the enemy with incredible swiftness and keen insight and tactics, using its signature weapon, the Storm Halberd--a double-bladed pole arm that serves as AGITΩ‘s primary means of attack. Furthermore, the blade of the Storm Halberd opens when at full power, increasing its power even further. However superior in overall speed and agility, the Storm Form is by far the weakest in comparison to the other forms, in terms of power and strength.

KAMEN RIDER AGITΩ [FLAME FORM]

It was the third of AGITΩ's forms to be revealed. The transformation is triggered by activating the left switch on the Alter Ring, 'opening' the “Red Dragon’s Eye.” The searing power of flame flows through the red body of the Flame Form and fills its right arm with incredible strength. Aside from its apparent superiority in the areas of power and defense, the Flame Form possesses phenomenal heightened senses; His sense have increased to point where an enemy's presence, whether distant, hidden and/or invisible to the naked eye, can be detected with frightening precision. Also, this form's weapon, the Flame Saber -- a sword with peerless sharpness -- is capable of increasing its power to its fullest by opening the 6 blades on its "Flame Horns".

  AGITΩ wields an additional Flame Saber in concert with the other in a double saber-stroke attack, slashing through the enemy with both blades aflame.

KAMEN RIDER AGITΩ [TRINITY FORM]

In the brief instance when Shōichi was able to recover his memory, he showed the possibility to invoke a new level of transformation; A ‘trinity’ of the Ground, Storm and Flame forms possessing extraordinary properties. This form's capabilities, a combination of all three, demonstrates, in full, the strongest qualities of AGITΩ’s powers. Furthermore, in this form AGITΩ is capable of wielding both Storm Halberd and Flame Saber of the Storm and Flame Forms, respectively. Unfortunately, when Shōichi once again loses his memory, the power of the Trinity Form was sealed away. But by this time, he was able to route the forces of the Dark Army and the Crow Queen Lord using the Trinity Form's awesome powers.

KAMEN RIDER AGITΩ [BURNING FORM]

Known as "the power awakening to infinite possibilities," born when Shōichi's desire to triumph his enemies overtook him and lost himself to his rage and passion. In the beginning phases, Shōichi's entire body was racked with a constant burning sensation before eventually understanding the nature its power; one that was not easily controlled. Shōichi was never truly able to manage such untamed power. This is because the source of its power is Shōichi's rare emotional energy, which translates into fuel for the Burning Form's colossal strength; meaning the stronger the emotion, the more roily its power. His weapon, the Shining Caliber, is a dual-bladed weapon capable of two modes: Single Mode, as a dual-blade sword and Twin Mode, as paired blades. Burning Form uses the "Single Mode" exclusively.

Once, a star swimmer of Jyohoku University, Ashihara’s future as a swimmer came to an end after a car accident. Since then, Ashihara has undergone a mysterious change, enabling him to transform into Masked Rider Gills. However, this came at cost of all those closest to him. This loneliness fueled his lust for battle, which in turn made Gills increasingly feral. His savagery is so great, that Gills appears as a brutal savage in the eyes of those whom witness in battle; brandishing wildly his claws and tentacles at his adversaries. However, this transformation is increasingly unstable, causing accelerated cellular decay. Because of excessive use Ashihara has suffered accumulative damage. But, ironically, Gills possesses phenomenal regenerative capabilities, even to the extent of regenerating severed limbs. This traits become key points of mystery surrounding Gills.

Despite possessing strength that exceeds AGITΩ, in one-on-one combat, he and AGITΩ's fighting prowess can be considered equal. However, the lack of a stabilizer (such as the Wiseman's Monolith possessed by AGITΩ) made the transformation unstable, carrying with it detrimental effects on Ashihara’s body. The transformation was so unstable that Ashihara’s body began to degrade from accelerated cellular decay.

Kaoru Kino was a surgical genius, but a snow-mountain accident would ruin his career and claim the life of younger brother. The accident also left his right arm with severe frost bite, which left surgeons no choice but to replaced it with his deceased brother’s arm. Kino was also one of the passenger aboard the “Akatsuki”. It was here that Kino was exposed to the AGITΩ power and would subsequently transform into “Another AGITΩ”. Transformed, Another AGITΩ possesses terrific physical prowess, and its most powerful attack, the “Assault Kick”, is comparable, in power, to Agito’s “Shining Rider Kick”. He is the self-proclaimed ‘strongest’ AGITΩ so far. Kino uses the transformation belt called “Ank Point”, and with the power of the “Alter Force”, Kino’s off-road bike is also transformed into Dark Hopper.

The major antagonists of Agito. A group of powerful disciples serving under the mysterious youth (Over Lord), also known as the Force of Darkness, or the creator of humanity. The name, "Unknown" is only a name used by the police department. Their real name is "The Lord Beasts". All of their tribes are separated into species of animals. They are normally man-shaped with a head of the animal, and sometimes with a weapon. All of them have a wing-shaped protuberance, sticking out of their shoulder, probably symbolizing that they are angels, or holy messengers. When they murder a certain person, they commit a ritual by using their hands, saying that they want permition to sin. At the same time, a halo appears over their head. Every one of them have their unique way of murduring, for example: leaving the corpse in a tree, dissolving the human, drying the human into death, changing the human into sand, pulling the human in the ground, dragging the human into the air and dropping them, vapourising, and so on. Under the mysterious youth exists three most powerful Unknowns, known as the El Lords, symbolizing Gabriel, Raphael, and Michael.

• "Agito" is usually spelt "AGITΩ" in the official merchandises.
• "Agito" was also the name of one of the adversary monsters in Kamen Rider J, but the two characters are not related.
• During the opening sequence, the three main riders are shown riding around Twin Ring Motegi, the home circuit of show sponsor Honda.
• None of the Riders in Agito are actually referred to as being "Kamen Riders" except for Agito in the game "Kamen Rider: Seigi no keifu" where he was dubbed "Kamen Rider Agito" by Shocker soldiers.
• Gills is similar to Kamen Rider Amazon from Kamen Rider Amazon; rather than donning a suit and mask, he completely transforms into a savage monster with movable jaws and the ability to regenerate limbs. Unlike Amazon, transforming into Gills causes him pain upon changing back to his human form.
• Kamen Rider G-3 was the first Kamen Rider not to have his armor materialize around him or organically transform to an organic Rider. Instead, he has a team help him put the Rider suit together.
• Kamen Rider G-3 is also the first Kamen Rider that has more than one wearer.
• Kamen Rider G-3X' eyes and mouthpiece are called (in official materials, but never during the show) Redaizer and Perfector - referring to Kamen Rider X and his henshin devices.
• Masaki Terasoma, who played Houjou's superior, Kaji, in episodes 18 and 19, was the voice actor for Shadow Moon in Kamen Rider Black and Kamen Rider Black RX.
• Kamen Rider Agito is an indirect sequel to Kamen Rider Kuuga. Agito is mentioned to visually resemble No.4 in the second episode; Kuuga's Mighty form was referred to as (Unidentified Beings) No.4 during Kamen Rider Kuuga. Despite being in the same universe however, Kuuga and Agito never encounter one another. Furthermore , the same Police group from Kuuga returns in Agito , and the G3-X suit bares a striking resemblance to Kuuga's Mighty Form.
• The owner of the bike shop that Ashihara/Gills frequents is played by Tetsuya Nakayashiki, suit actor for mostly every Rider from V3 through Super One. Nakayashiki is nicknamed "Mr. Kamen Rider."
• Agito is also the first Kamen Rider to feature the three main types of Riders: the mystical Rider (one that draws power from ancient technology or mystical methods, like Kuuga and Hibiki), the organic Rider (one whose anatomy changes to become a Rider, like Amazon and Shin), and the high-technology Rider (one who is either a cyborg or uses advanced technology to fight, of which majority of the Old School Riders and Faiz).
• Another Agito is the first Rider to have any additional clothing (in this instance, skirting) hanging from his body since Kamen Rider ZX (the last protagonist Kamen Rider to wear a scarf). Additionally, the proportions of Another Agito's face was designed to resemble that of Kamen Rider 1, which is why he bares his teeth when charging up his kick.
• Kamen Rider Agito is the first to have two different Riders with identical designs. G3 and G4 are considered different Riders while G3X is an upgrade of G3 and G3 Mild acting as a production model. This would later be repeated in Kamen Rider Ryuki(Ryuki and Ryuga), Kamen Rider Hibiki(Zanki and Todoroki), and Kamen Rider Kabuto(Kabuto and Dark Kabuto, and the Hoppers).

The franchise has released a series of Hanshin toys with Bandai through 2001 to 2002. The franchise also released a line of 12 inch action figures by Medicom and Timehouse:

This is the prequel series of KAMEN RIDER AGITO 'THE MOVIE'. The Agito Movie (titled "PROJECT G4") was premiered the next day after this Special was presented. The Special features all three Riders plus the first appearance of G3 Mild & Agito Shining Form!! The Shining form is born when the Burning form is breaking his shell off All 4 riders fight against new "Unknown" beetle kaijin. The story is ended with a mysterious girl stalking G4 project and to be continued to "KAMEN RIDER AGITO THE MOVIE"!!

• Theatrical Film: Project G4 (Project G4, Purojekuto Jī Fō^?)

Kamen Rider Agito (Shōichi Tsugami), Gills (Ryō Asihara), and G3-X (Makoto Hikawa) have to deal with all Unknown who trying ended the human being with supernatural ability. Others they also have to face the G4 which is made by the military. Shōichi was find a teenage girl name sayaka who have a supernatural ability and can control it by bracelet, but unfortunenately she drop the bracelet and the wear by Mana who also have Supernatural ability, and it makes Fukami Risako interest on her power for enhacing the power of G4 by using the supernatural ability. The final showdown between G3-X and G4 was begun.
