I am Spectrum. Since the user name "Spectrum" is in use, I appended "DT" to my user name, which means "Dream Tyrant" (more on this below).

My real name is Claus Appel. I am born in 1984 and live in Denmark . I went to high school at Allerød Gymnasium (2000-2003) and now (as of Summer 2005) study computer science at DIKU in Copenhagen.

Dream Tyrant is my metal band. We play a combination of power metal, black metal and death metal. I am the vocalist, founder, leader and main songwriter of the band.

Dream Tyrant is not active at the moment. I plan to revive the band later on, but for now, it lies "dead but dreaming".

My interests are music, reading, computer games, computer science and programming, and various sciences, such as astronomy, biology and Egyptology.

I listen to metal, especially power metal and black metal, but also other subgenres.

I read mostly fantasy, science fiction and horror litterature. Also humour and comic books. I also read books about music theory, science, mythology and philosophy.

Among my favourite authors are J.R.R. Tolkien, H.P. Lovecraft, Frank & Brian Herbert (Dune series), Richard Adams (Shardik, Maia) and Douglas Adams (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series).

My favourite movies fall into two categories: Epics and comedies.

Epics include the Lord of the Rings series, Star Wars series (all six movies), The Matrix series.

Comedies include various Jim Carrey Movies, various cartoon movies (Finding Nemo, The Emperor's New Groove, Ice Age...), Olsen-Banden (old Danish movie series) and Monty Python's various works.
