Kelly George (born September 10, 1982) is a beauty queen from Mission Viejo, California who competed for the Miss USA title in 2007.
George who currently lives in Sherwood, Arkansas, is a second lieutenant in the Air Force.[1] She won the Miss Arkansas USA 2007 title in the state pageant held in Conway, Arkansas on 23 September 2006 and was crowned by outgoing titleholder Kimberly Forsyth of Cabot. Her "sister" 2007 titleholder is Tiffany Greenstreet, Miss Arkansas Teen USA 2007.
George competed in the Miss USA 2007 pageant which was broadcast live from the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, California on March 23, 2007. She will be the first active-duty military member to compete in the pageant in its 56 year history.[2]
Although this was her first Miss USA state pageant, George had placed second runner-up in the Miss Maryland 2005 pageant and third runner-up in the 2004 event. In 2004 she represented Maryland in the annual Miss National Sweartheart competition, competing alongside other runners-up from various Miss America state pageants.
George grew up in Mission Viejo, California and attended Trabuco Hills High School. She later gained a BA in Communications from University of Maryland, College Park, in part paid for by the $25,000 she earned in scholarship money by competing in pageants.[3] She then moved to Arkansas where she is studying for her masters degree at University of Arkansas, Little Rock.[4] She has worked as an intern at the press desk of theOffice of the Secretary of Defense at The Pentagon and is currently working as deputy chief of Public Affairs for the 314th Airlift Wing at Little Rock Air Force Base.[5]
