The Kids Next Door, or KND for short, is a worldwide organization of trained children under the age of 13 who battle adult tyranny in the animated series Codename: Kids Next Door. The current age of the KND, the seventh age, was founded by Numbuh 0, after he discovered the legendary "Book of KND". The orginization's purpose is to protect kids from adult tyranny and teenagers (anyone over the age of 13) but they only battle evil adults, as stated in Operation: M.A.T.A.D.O.R. All members' codenames are numbers, spelled "numbuh". Earlier in the KND, girls were not allowed in the organization. The KND wear normal clothes. KND sounds like "candy".

[edit] Training
Cadets, referred to as Cadets Next Door, are trained by Numbuh 60 in the KND Arctic Base. After, they graduate on the Moonbase and pick a number for a codename, they put their DNA (booger) into the KND Codemodule and KND Super Computer, and are assigned to a sector.
[edit] Decommissioning
When an operative turns 13 years old, they are to be decommissioned by the head decommissioner, Numbuh 86, and her Decommissioning Squad. Some manage to escape and usually turn on the KND and become villains, while some of the best operatives are falsely decommissioned and go undercover with real villains to inform the KND about teenager and possibly adult facilities. Only some operatives know this.
[edit] Operatives
There are countless members of the KND. The founder of the seventh age was Monty Uno a.k.a. Numbuh 0, and the supreme leader of the KND is Numbuh 362. She replaced Numbuh 274, who replaced Numbuh 100. The cadet trainer is Numbuh 60 and the head of decommissioning/global tactical officer is Numbuh 86. Operatives are split into sectors, around five operatives in a sector, except for a few exceptions. The show focuses on Sector V, which consists of Numbuh One, Numbuh Two, Numbuh Three, Numbuh Four, Numbuh Five, and the honorary skunk operative, Numbuh Six, technically the youngest operative in the whole organiztion.
[edit] Bases
The KND are split into sectors around the world, which are gigantic treehouses. The most important base is the Moonbase Headquarters, and the second most important base is the Arctic Base. The names of the sectors are letters, such as Sector C or Sector J. Usually the letter is the first letter of the location of the sector, for example Sector C is located in China. (Before being told that, Numbuh 4 thought Sector C was located in Arizona)
[edit] Positions
Operatives have positions, some that are:
- supreme leader
- sector leader
- second-in-command
- spy
- technology officer
- scientist
- engineer
- detective
- hand-to-hand combat
- nurse
- head of group
- diversionary tactics
To become the supreme leader there is a game of tag. Whoever is "it" at noon becomes the supreme leader. This job seems not well liked through the organization.
[edit] Technology
To accomplish their various missions, the Kids Next Door have access to a variety of gadgets and devices stored in their treehouse (often Rube Goldberg devices that are products of two-by-four technology) as well as the resources of the global Kids Next Door. They use items such as cars and fireplaces to make their technology. The technology officers, engineers, and scientists usually create technology. The names of technology are usually acronyms. It was originally shiny and high-tech, but Cartoon Network thought Dexter's Laboratory had already used that. [1]
[edit] List
- B.A.J.O.O.K.A. (Blasts Alotta Juicy Overfilled Orange Kartons Around) (T.O.M.M.Y.)-blasts orange juice cartons at the Common Cold (since orange juice is said to heal colds); however it had no effect on the Flu Bug.
- C.L.A.M.M.U.H. (C.A.N.N.O.N.)
- C.L.O.U.D.C.O.V.E.R. (V.I.R.U.S.)
- C.O.O.L.B.U.S. (Carries Operative’s Overhead Luxoriously - Boasts Unbeatable Speed) (various)-designed by Warburton and Robert Kopecky[2]
- E.L.E.P.H.I.N.D.E.R. (Enormous Lumbering Electric Pachyderm Helps Instigate Nailbitingly Daring Emergency Rescues) (F.E.R.A.L.)-used to find Numbuh 1 in Op FERAL.
- E.L.I.M.O.N.A.T.O.R.
- H.I.P.P.I.E.-H.O.P. (Hare Inspired Piston Powered Ingenious Exoskeleton Hops Over Parents)-designed by Gideon Kendall and colored by Grace Lu [3], this robotic machine resembles a huge white and gray rabbit. Numbuh 3 owns it and usually controls it, but it can also activate by itself. Unlike most technology in C:KND, it was never registered; however the show’s website and the 2x4 Technology Handbook says it. It first debuted in Operation: T.U.R.N.I.P., where Numbuh s 1, 2, 4, and 3 were training by fighting against it, with Numbuh 3 controlling it. In this episode Numbuh 3 is "speaking" to it over a communication watch; she later tells it "code X79", which makes it prepare to attack a huge turnip, only to have it fall on H.I.P.P.I.E.-H.O.P, destroying it. After it is destroyed, Numbuh 3 ejects, and her parachute inflates after she reaches the ground. This is what is usually the fate of H.I.P.P.I.E.-H.O.P. in its recurring appearances. In the 2x4 Technology Handbook, "Numbuh 2" comments that he’s "fixed it like ten million zillion times" and that he’d like it to "kick some butt" for once. Also in the book, extra information is given, such as that its height is "8 Hoagies", it is "heavier than it looks", its power is 200 hamsters, and its armament is bug zapper lasers and "deadly cuteness". It has radar-receiving ears and steam shovel feet; it can tear through a brick wall with one swipe. It has a padded cockpit (for the pilot’s comfort) and its controls are moisture-sealed in case of exploding soda. Has cement mixer hull: triple-reinforced with cardboard sheeting to protect hamsters, power generating system, and Numbuh 3’s extra Rainbow Monkeys. Concrete bombs are dropped form the chute. Visual orientation ports: one-way mirrored windows. Also has refrigerator teeth (used for storage or smashing things).[4]

[edit] Book of KND
The Book of KND is a book found by Monty Uno. When he fell in a tree he found the book, which gave him hope to re-start the Kids Next Door. It serves as an instruction guide on how to handle and build 2x4 technology. It also contains each operatives' story. Numbuh 1's is "We are Kids Next Door". It was mistakenly thought to be stolen in Operation: E.N.G.L.A.N.D. At current, it is unknown who originally wrote the book.
[edit] KND Nightly News
KND Nightly News is a television program covering recent news involving the Kids Next Door. So far it has only been seen in Operation: C.O.U.C.H. Numbuh 1 seems to be a fan, while the rest of Sector V seems bored watching it. The anchors are Numbuh 10 and a boy who cracks bad puns. It also includes a list of operatives who have turned thirteen years old and would be decommissioned that day.
