[edit] Summary
- Kiniro no Corda ~primo passo~
Hino Kahoko is a 2nd year student at a music academy where the students are divided into two groups: those who wear the gray uniforms are the normal students, and those who wear the cream colored blazers have chosen a musical instrument as their course of study. This musical academy was founded by a musician who loved everything about music and made it his life to learn as much as he could. One day, he found a small fairy who he from that day on, decided to care for on his own. This fairy, Lili, suggested that he create a school which teaches music and that is how this academy was formed.
Hino meets Lili at the school's entrance as a surprise to both of them because only a select few people have the ability to see Lili, and those who do are chosen by Lili to participate in the school's music contest. In the past, only music students participated have participated in this annual contest, but this year the normal student Hino Kahoko will compete. At first, she is completely against this as she has never played an instrument before that day, but Lili reassures her and gives her a magical violin that can be played by anyone, as long as they have the music in their heart. Reluctantly, Kahoko finally agrees and competes in the contest.
As a result of entering the music contest, she meets the other contestants and must face the pressures from her peers and prejudice from the music students to the general education students.
This anime began airing on TV Tokyo in Japan on October 1st, 2006. It airs late Sunday nights from 1:00am - 1:30am. For alternate showtimes outside of the Kanto area, please visit the The Official TV Tokyo Website
[edit] Characters
- Hino Kahoko (日野 香穂子 Hinō Kahoko) The main character. She is in her second year at high school and is a general education department student. She never played or touched a violin in her life until she met a strange fairy, Lili/Riri. A polite and considerate girl who puts other's feelings before her own. It's obvious that many people around her have crushes on her.
- Lili (リリ Riri) The fairy that lives on the campus and is the one who gives Kahoko the magical violin since she was able to see him. Lili is the same fairy that promised the creator of the school that he will bless the school with music.
- Len Tsukimori (月森 連 Tsukimori Ren) A surly violin player who normally behaves contemptuously toward everyone. His hair is drawn as blue. His mother is a very famous pianist and his father is a well-known violinist. He slowly warms toward Hino and even gives her advice on how to hold and stand properly with the violin. He seems to have a small crush on Hino but he tries to hide it.
- Ryotaro Tsuchiura (土浦 梁太郎 Tsuchiura Ryotarō) Another general education department student. He and Kahoko become friends after he he runs into her and helps her take some papers to the music school, and she trusts him with the fact she cannot play the violin. He is a very gifted piano player but quit playing when he won a contest and thought it was an unfair win and is now trying to keep his talents a secret. He is at odds with Len and they often fight.
