KRNV is the NBC network affiliate in Reno, Nevada, serving the Reno market including the rest of northern Nevada.
The station was founded in 1962 as KCRL-TV, the second television station in northern Nevada. It became KRNV on January 22, 1990. It has always been an NBC affiliate, though it shared ABC with KOLO-TV until 1967. NBC 4 WeatherPlus can be seen on KRNV's digital station.
On December 19, 2006, KRNV began broadcasting its local news programming in high definition. Uniquely, for the 110th largest market, it is one of three stations with high definition newscasts. KREN and KAZR both have HD newscasts. [1]
