[edit] Overview
The era covers the second Universal Century and follows the collapse of the Republic of Zeon and the Zeon movements and the waning of the Earth Federation. The decline of the Federation brings forth various warlords, carving their territories and fiefdoms out of colonized space. The movie Mobile Suit Gundam F91, the follow-up manga series Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam and the animated series Mobile Suit Victory Gundam take place during this time period.
[edit] MS Development Competition Era
In UC 0111 (also called UC 111), the Strategic Naval Research Institute (SNRI) developed the prototype F90 Gundam Formula 90. SNRI is then chosen to create the new generation of scaled-down mobile suits while the MSA-0120 design of Anaheim Electronics loses.
The MS Development Competition Era (MS開発競争時代 Mobile Suit Kaihatsu Kyousou Jidai) is the time when SNRI and Anaheim Electronics continued competing for hegemony from here to UC 0130's.

[edit] Cosmo Babylon Wars
In UC 0123 (also called UC 123), following 30 years of peace, the Crossbone Vanguard tries to establish an aristocracy known as "Cosmo Babylonia". Their first move is to attack the colony Frontier IV and take control of it. Because their mobile suits are much stronger than their federation counterparts that they easily win. During this attack Cecily Fairchild, whose real name is Berah Ronah, becomes a member of the CBV to act as a figurehead until Cosmo Babylon is established. The Earth Federation then reacts and attack Frontier IV but only kill innocent civilians. In the meantime Cecily’s friend Seabook Arno becomes the pilot of the F91 Gundam Formula 91 and has several battles with the CBV. Later Cecily switches side to Seabook and together they fight her father Carozzo “Iron Mask” Ronah who wants to kill all people on Earth with his Bug weapons. Carozzo fights against the two with the mobile armor XMA-01 Rafflesia but is killed by Seabook. Cosmo Babylon does get independence, but Federation made them pay for taking the colonies. First they took away all such critical resources and buffo colony they had and there money took away building's and resource's and halted all the resources to side 4 and that made the new government bankrupt. It was all done by military force if the people did not do what they say.
Cosmo Babylon finally breaks down when Cecily gives a speech about how all people are equal. In UC 0128 both Cecily and Seabook are apparently killed in a terrorist attack and shortly after the that event the earth federation retakes side 4. However they survive and create a pirate movement which runs under the name Crossbone Vanguard to gather soldiers and supplies. They are even able to get several Gundam-type mobile suits, the F97 Crossbone Gundams.

[edit] The Jupiter Empire Wars
In UC 0133 a new aristocratic empire, the Jupiter Empire, is secretly established by Crux Dogatie and covered by the Jupiter Energy Fleet. The Crossbone Vanguard pirate movement tries to stop this so they attack the transport ship Smashion. During this incident young Tobia Arronax becomes a member of the space pirates as a mobile suit pilot. Later the CBV tries to invade a large Jupiter outpost and afterwards plans to kill Dogatie. However it turns out that Dogatie has cloned himself several times. Dougatie then tricks the Earth Federation so that they help them and they send the mass produced Gundam Formula 91. Dougatie’s final plan is to attack Earth with several powerful mobile armor units known as Divinidad. However the CBV is able to destroy all of them and all of Dougatie’s clones are killed. Afterwards Cecily and Seabook retreat and Tobia becomes the new leader of the Crossbone Vanguard to destroy the remaining Jupiter Empire members.

[edit] Age of the Warring Space States Era
In UC 0140, Independent feelings of each Space Colony rose again and the Earth Federation accepted autonomy of a Space Colony. This time is called the Age of the Warring Space States (宇宙戦国時代 Uchu Sengoku Jidai). It is unclear to when the Age of the Warring Space States continued.
This era in the Universal Century timeline is obviously inspired by the Warring States Period (戦国時代 Sengoku Jidai) of Japanese and Chinese history.

[edit] The Zanscare Empire Wars
In UC 0148 Side 2 declares itself the Zanscare Empire, and League Militaire was found. Not until October, 0152 the Zanscare Empire shows its ambition and declares its superiority over Earth and other colonies, claiming they have dominion on the Earth sphere. Followed by an attack on the Largane colony. Their enemy is the League Militaire, a Londo Bell like organisation which uses the mass-produced Victory Gundam. Earth Federation did not officially join the war until towards the end of the war, on 17th April 0153, only a fleet(Flagship: Reinforce) from the Irish base was sent to join the League Militaire and quickly signed a peace treaty with Zanscare Empire on 28th May, 0153. However, the war did not end and the Zanscare Empire and planned to use the Angel Halo to hypnotize every adult on Earth to mindwash them. With the battle between League Militarie and Zanscare Empire forces, Angel Halo was severely damage and losing its altitude on the Low Earth Orbit on the 21st June, 0153. Queen Maria of the Zanscare Empire died with the sinking of the flagship on 22nd June. Part of Angel Halo disintergrated after atmoshperic reentry and other parts was rasied back to orbit.[1] After the Zanscare Empire war the Earth Federation took back side 2.

[edit] Revolt of MHA
In UC 0203, the Manhunter (MHA), an organization created by the Earth Federation to search out and deport illegal aliens, rebels against the Earth Federation. They rename themself into Metatron (Zi Zeon Organization) and reveal Afranshia Char, which is a memory clone of Char Aznable, as a leading figure. By using the α000-0001 Gaia Gear Alpha they want to overthrow the Earth Federation.
Author of the story, creator of the original Gundam, later claimed that these events are not official and Sunrise listed it as a side story instead of actual events that happened in Universal Century timeline.

[edit] Collapse of Earth Federation
In UC 0218 (also called UC 218 in G-Saviour), the Earth Federation begins to exert more control over each Space Colony to suppress repeated disputes. But because of resistance from the colonies, a state of war quickly ensues. The war soon ends after independence was granted to each of the Space Colonies. By UC 0222, the collective group of independent space colonies were now known as the Space Settlement.
Not long afterwards, the Earth Federation finally collapses. The successors of the Earth government along with the space colonies Side 2, Side 3, Side 5 and Side 7 form the Settlement Nations while the Lunar government and the space colonies Side 1 and Side 4 join together under the Settlement of Free Alliance. Only the space colony Side 6 maintains its independence as a neutral country.
The Settlement Nations in the end reorganize the old Earth Federation as the Congress of Settlement Nations (CONSENT). This new group is however opposed by the Illuminati resistance movement which is based at the New Manhattan colony at Side 4.

[edit] "Light of Gaia" Event
In UC 0223 (also called UC 223), Side 8 (also known as Gaia) rebels against CONSENT, when they try to gain control of the colony there, which was used as a research facility. Their plan is however thwarted by the Illuminati resistance movement. Following this and other incidents, CONSENT is overthrown by the Illuminati.
