[edit] Trivia
The character of Armand is much different in the musical than in the books. He is portrayed as an antagonist who helps Lestat denounce Claudia and Louis merely to get revenge on Lestat for breaking up the coven, created by him, while in the books he actually believe the Dark Laws, seeks Lestat asking and not offering explanations and knowledge and kills Claudia also for revenge, but mostly to free his way to Louis, with whom he is in love. Louis and Claudia, in the play, have a simple father/daughter relationship, while in the book they are lovers. Marius never abandoned Armand, nor regreted creating him. His "crime" was making the pupil when he was 17, too young to deal with the Dark Gift. While in the play he may be sweet, pure and inocent, in the book Nicholas de Lenfret has an "inner darkness" and wished him and Lestat to starve in Paris, so he would never be the sucsess his father wished him to be. While drinking his blood, Lestat suffers more than he ever did and leave him, at his request, at the theater with the other vampires. Later he receives a letter saying Nicholas went into the fire.
