[edit] History
Life FM started during March 1993 on 99.3 FM in Christchurch as a station broadcasting a mix of Christian and secular music, however the frequency was leased from More FM and the station had to shut down when the lease finished. Life FM was restarted in Auckland, Waikato and the Bay of Plenty in 1997 as a 100% Christian network.
Listener contributions from around the world make up about 80% of the network's budget. Since 2004 regular "Lifeathon" live radio events have raised a large proportion of this budget. In 2005 the event featured Zed lead singer Nathan King, boxer David Tua, Christian band Mumsdollar, musician Dave Dobbyn and netball player Irene van Dyk.
