One trick that I think is useful is the redirect page. If you create an article with one line like
#REDIRECT[[Online text based role playing games]]
Then anyone who goes to that page gets automatically redirected. Zeimusu
[edit] How to revert a page
If you want to revert a page to an old version:
- Open the history for the page you want to revert.
- Select the date of the version you want to revert to. You will see the old version.
- Edit that old version.
- Write an edit summary and (optionally) mark as minor.
- Save the page. There will be a warning that you are saving an old version, which you can ignore.
- You are done!
Be quick, because if anyone else is editing the newer version, their edits would be lost. There is an (informal) rule that you can only make three revertions a day to a page. It is to stop "revert wars" — Zeimusu | Talk 00:14, 2005 Feb 8 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:SchoolyardHeroes BW PromoPhoto.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:SchoolyardHeroes BW PromoPhoto.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:07, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
