Hi, Winstonwolfe. Yes, I obviously did misunderstand. Bugger, I was sucked in by the language! Becvause I'm living in Australia now I am a bit remote from 75 Squadron resources, so I'm not going to achieve much. Do what you wish - if you've got the time. I've missed the reunion of a buch of people who could have helped - couldn't afford to travel to NZ after my wide journeying this year.
BTW, I don't understand how your text got to me - but I'm too lazy to sort it out just now. I hope to remember to look it up if it doesn't happen automatically.
Well I'm damned, I joined in 1955 and there was only one meteor left in storage then, and I thought that that was it! Hmmm, I remember doing some work on that first Beaver - cannot remember the year, for the life of me, but probably mid-late 1958. I guess that I was helping Graeme Johnston.
As for the battle honours, I should have looked about more first. Silly boy!

Hey good to hear from you. Yes, the computer geek language is @#$%^& confusing, (but then so is military speak to most people I suppose).
You can look at another user's page by clicking on their name, and then comment by writing in discussion, and just by doning that, it sends a message. It seems, (and I don't know how this custom came about), people write on each other's discussion pages - which can make for a disjointed sort of conversation. Don't put yourself down, you will know vastly more about 75 squadron and the RNZAF than I will, (after all you served in it, whereas I've only been in the army). Re 75 squadron RNZAF and 75 Squadron RAF - I think you misunderstand the merger suggestion. On my understanding, given the scant information on 75 Squadron RAF, it would involve redirecting that page to the 75 squadron RNZAF one. If you remain opposed to the suggestion of a merger, I would be intereted in which of the two artilces you think should cover the World war II activities of the squadron and why. (I note no one has done anything about for months anyway, and I'm not about to start :-), Winstonwolfe 01:03, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
Re alterations to the RNZAF page. I have reverted the battle honor comments. I agree it would be a good idea to include battle honours on the squadron pages, but because these are comments about the squadrons, not useful information for someone reading about the RNZAF which should be made on the comments page of the individual squadron articles, not on the main article page for the RNZAF. (What would be even better is if you added the battle honours to the squadron pages yourself :-).
I have also altered some minor factual and style points, e.g. the RNZAF in fact had three Gloster Meteors, though I believe on the single seater was used in New Zealand; on the other hand it only had one de Havilland Beaver, (unless you count the RNZAF museum's example as a second).
