But when the near-human boy robot proves incapable of growing like a normal boy, the cruel doctor sells him to a robot circus. Boynton's kindly successor, Dr. Packedermus J. Elefun, is shocked by the circus' treatment of Astro Boy and attempts to regain Institute custody.
Episode 2: Colosso: A giant robot, Colosso, being built for space exploration, escapes from a lab prematurely and is recruited by jewel thieves. Astro Boy must stop the robot's crime spree and return him to the lab.
Episode 3: Expedition to Mars: After a Mars planetary expedition is undermined by mutineers, Earth sends a follow-up mission under a more reliable commander: Astro Boy. Upon arrival, however, Astro Boy learns that the "mutineers" were actually trying to warn everyone of an impending invasion. When the attackers arrive, it is up to Astro Boy to defend Mars against them.
Episode 4: The Sphinx: Astro Boy is kidnapped and temporarily drained of his power by a group that plans to use the young robot's strength to defeat a sphinx monster and steal a scientist's valuable cryogenic equipment.
Episode 5: Cross Island: A deranged scientist, Dr. Spinster, escapes from jail and heads toward a mining operation in Cross Island. There, Sinister abducts Dr Elefun and forces Astro Boy to give up some of his energy to bolster the powers of Sinister's own boy robot. Sinister now plans to use his spaceship to make off with Cross Island's enormous mineral wealth. Dr Elefun must somehow escape his bonds and reactivate Astro Boy who alone can stop Sinister.

The robot swan happens to be Princess Lollipop, who was running away from Hulabaloo Land. Baron Von Hoodwink, and the robot dragon, Firesnout, broke in the house. Astro Boy tried to stop Hoodwink from getting Princess Lollipop, but the fight was interrupted by Dr. Elefun, who was passing by and told Astro Boy that Princess Lollipop legally belongs at Hulabaloo land. One Day, Dr. Elefun and Astro Boy pay a visit to Dr. Magico, owner and manager of Hulabaloo Land, which happens to be a robot amusement park. After the tour, Dr. Elefun went to a meeting about anti-cruelty of Asteroid Beetles, while Astro Boy asked every robot about the truth of Hulabaloo Land. First, he asked a couple of robot mermaids, but they were too scared and they dove in the water. Then, he asked some robot villagers, but they too were scared, except one robot who bravely told the truth that Dr. Magico and Baron Von Hoodwink were abusive, but he was pulled into the ground. Then, he heard a message coming from a forest. A robot elf greets Astro Boy and tells him that anyone who says anything critical about Hulabaloo Land gets thrown into the melting pot. Meanwhile, a robot who criticized Hulabaloo Land is smashed to pieces by Hoodwink. Astro Boy and the elf, sneak quietly inside, but are caught by Hoodwink. Soon, round 2 of Astro Boy and Hoodwink's battle began. Dr. Magico stopped Hoodwink after he beats Astro Boy with an electric whip. While Dr. Magico and Hoodwink are gone, Princess Lollipop gives half of her energy to Astro Boy. Astro Boy and the elf walked quietly to an energy machine where Astro Boy replenishes all his energy. Having regained his full strength, he vanquishes both Hoodwink and Firesnout. The robots of Hulabaloo Land turn against Dr. Magico and send him to justice.
