List of F-Zero titles
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
F-Zero (エフゼロ F-ZERO?) is a popular series of futuristic racing video game produced by Nintendo EAD (originally Research & Development Team 4).
The first installment of the series premiered in Japan in 1990, and F-Zero games have subsequently been localized for markets in North America, Europe and Australia, on nearly every modern Nintendo video game console, including the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, the Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo GameCube, and on Wii's Virtual Console. Excluding Japan, the series usually has landed on a system once in its lifetime. F-Zero: GP Legend marks the first time the series has hit a system twice in its lifetime in the US. As of October 2004, eight games have been released as part of the main (numbered) series.

The idea of a "direct sequel," that is, a game which directly relates to the story or world from a previous game in the series, was inconsistent in this franchise. There are a number of reboot continuities and those released on the home consoles that are sequels contain many contradictions.
