This is a list of cities in Sweden by population.
The population is measured by Statistics Sweden. The statistics bureau uses the term tätort (urban settlement or urban area), which is defined as a continuous built-up area with a maximum distance of 50 metres between residences. Some urban areas in Sweden have witnessed conurbation and grown together.
The urban areas with the highest population, according to Statistics Sweden,[1] are:
