Loaf 'N Jug
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Loaf 'N Jug is a chain of convenience stores owned by Kroger and the store's headquater in Pueblo, Colorado. Kroger purchased Loaf 'N Jug in 1986.[1] In 2006, Kroger consolidated many of its convenience stores under the Loaf 'N Jug banner, rebranding some of its Turkey Hill, Kwik Shop, Mini Mart, Quik Stop and Tom Thumb chains as Loaf 'N Jugs.[2] Some, like Kwik Shops in Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska, retain their original names.
Some stores, that haven't had such in the past, have been expanded to sell gasoline. Often this gasoline is obtained from local independent fuel distributors instead of historical suppliers Conoco and Texaco, for example. In many markets, fuel, a commodity, is provided via one terminal and then sold under many brand names.
As of 2006 there were approximately 800 Loaf 'N Jug stores in 16 states.
