[edit] Marathi language

I thank you for your prompt response to my cleanup tags. As a native Marathi speaker living in the US, I appreciate your expertise and extensive edits to the Marathi language article. However, spoken Indian English is distinct from written Indian English; please read Formal written English. The usage and grammatical errors in the article detract from its readability and overall quality. Thanks! -- Atungare 03:29, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edit Summary Request

I have noted that you edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky or even vandalizing. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! -- Kukini 16:43, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pl keep a watch on marathi article

[edit] Devanagari spell check bot =

Hi Mahitgar, I responded to your query on the Hindi main talk page about a spell check bot, but I didn't see your userpage here until now. You should provide links from each to your userpage on your most active project. I don't have the skills to write a spell check bot but it would be great to have. Aspell and Freedict would be a good start, as the first has a Hindi, Marathi, etc wordlist and the second has a Hindi-English and eng-hin dictionary, and presumably other languages. Aspell could probably form the basis of a spell checking bot. You could also try posting on Wikipedia:Bot_requests to see if someone there is willing to put the bot together. Thanks - Taxman Talk 19:01, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] fair use Wikipedia namespace issue

  • Please, follow following discussion regarding namespace for the article I created.I donot know and can not spend time for wiki's administrative policing and jugglary, please help me out by moving following article with right name at right place.

I have moved Fair use/India to Wikipedia:WikiProject India/Fair use. It seemed rather ill-formed for an article in the (Main) namespace. If you think it should be re-instated, please ensure that: a) it has a more sensible title, b) it begins with a proper context, explaining what the article is about and c) it is a proper article and not simply a copy of source material. -- RHaworth 11:26, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your concern, and I do not mind your action either. Only I want to retain the category 'Indian Law'.
While there is already an article in name of 'Fair use' related to simmiller American Law.
  • While I am aware of Wikipedia Policies ,I uploaded as it was with me because it is more a Law related subject and still a priority for all India Language Wikipedias.
  • Indian Portal on English Wikipedia is having more Law experts who can give better justice to this subject.
  • The thing which makes me uncomfortable on english wikipedia is at times these edits come too fast and do not leave enough time for a persons who wants to build it rather at a steady space.
Thanks any way, Mahitgar 15:49, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Now you point it out, I agree, we need more than one article: Fair use, Fair use under United States law, Fair use under Indian law, etc. It is just that I felt that your article was not quite ready to become the Fair use under Indian law article. Regarding speed of edits here at en: - one thing you can do is to create your articles in User:Mahitgar/sandbox until you feel ready to release them to the eyes of new page patrollers.

You also need to point out somewhere that even though a Wikipedia article may have an Indian subject, it is the law applicable to Florida that governs copyright/fair use considerations for that article. -- RHaworth 16:12, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I am quite agree with RHaworth that rather creating Fair use/India, it would be better to have like Fair use under Indian Law or any other if you want to write an article on it. If you have any important concern to create Fair use/India which is the subpage of Fair use, then please let me know. You can create article by explaining in summary that "article is at initial stage and don't move it to wiki space". Shyam (T/C) 17:51, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

It appears you have been helped already . - UtherSRG (talk) 15:40, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] INCOTW

Hello. I have removed the artice nomination from INCOTW. The article must be moved to the mainspace before it is accepted for INCOTW. User:Shyam Bihari has suggested an apt title to which you can move the article to. - Aksi_great (talk) 11:50, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Marathi Language Dwindling Nos

Hello Mahitgar. You're right. I've reworded that part. Thanks!

Namaskaar! Thanks for the invitation to Marathi Wikipedia. Its an honor for me to be invited. I will keep on contributing with whatever I can. I am not much familiar with the concepts of embassy here and I will take some time to figure it out. In the meantime, if there is something that I need to do (such as maybe respond in a particular way to the invitation), please notify me about that. Thank you. --Eukesh 18:59, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks PKulkarni

Thanks for your invitation for Marathi Wiki!!

About Ambedkar article sometimes it is good to rearrange the things to give RIGHT INFORMATION. Better to edit some controversial articles slowly! Hope you will take my inputs in a positive manner. By the way you are doing very well. Pkulkarni 18:36, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks Mahitgar for the offer of working on Marathi project but I am not Maharashtrian or do not possess due knowledge of Marathi.

Could you please tell me whether "Samor" means opposite or near? I was believing and using Samor for opposite while speaking Marathi, only yesterday someone not Maharashtrian told me that Samor means near and not opposite. Swadhyayee 21:39, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for the meaning of "samor".Swadhyayee 06:50, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
