Marion LeRoy Burton

Marion LeRoy Burton (1874 – 1925 in Brooklyn, Iowa) was the second president of Smith College, serving from 1910 to 1917. He left Smith to become president of the University of Minnesota from 1917 to 1920.
In that year, he became fifth president of the University of Michigan, serving until his death of a heart attack in 1925.
He was also a minister who authored several books.
There is a school, Marion L. Burton Elementary School, named after him in Huntington Woods, Michigan.
