Mark Leiren-Young

Mark Leiren-Young (born 1962) is a Canadian screenwriter and playwright who lives in Burnaby, British Columbia. A veteran of TV, film, theatre, radio, magazines and newspapers, Leiren-Young also toured Canada as half of the satirical comedy troupe, Local Anxiety. He wrote, co-produced and co-starred in the TV comedy special, Greenpieces for VTV/Green Channel/PBS – which received an EarthVision Award for excellence in environmental programming. His first feature film -- which he wrote and directed -- is a documentary-style drama exploring the battle between loggers and environmentalists that is defining, dividing and destroying communities in Canada and around the world. It's being released in 2007.
