Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival

The Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival is held the first weekend in May at the Howard County, Maryland, Fairgrounds in West Friendship, Maryland. It has vendors of wool yarn, and judging of sheep breeds. Other events include a "sheep to shawl" contest and border collie demonstrations. The festival was started in 1973; the 2006 festival was the 33rd.
