New York State Sheep and Wool Festival
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The New York State Sheep and Wool Festival is a large gathering of fiber-arts enthusiasts (knitters, crocheters, handspinners, etc.), growers of natural-fiber-producing livestock (sheep, goats, angora rabbits, llamas, alpaca, etc.), and vendors of the materials and tools associated with each. It is held in October of each year at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, New York. In addition to the myriad vendors for and demonstrations of fiber arts activities, the festival features several livestock competitions, sheepdog trials, and general mingling of people who share these interests.
The Festival is held concurrently with the Mid-Hudson Valley Gem & Mineral Show & Sale.
