The Mazda Verisa is a "tall" hatchback based on the Mazda2 or Mazda Demio subcompact car, launched in 2004. It is available only in the Japanese market and as of 2005, 19,473 Verisas had been sold since introduction.
The relationship between the Verisa and the Demio is similar to that of the Ford Fusion (European) and Ford Fiesta, on whose platform the cars are built.
In June 2006, Mazda announced a facelift for the Verisa.
As of July 2007, Mazda will give the Verisa a new logo.
[edit] Future
Mazda will redesign the Verisa for 2009.
