Talk:Melbourne Docklands
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The recent changes made by 202.147.143.242 sound like they're lifted from the Docklands' PR department. Cnwb 08:32, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] An area, not just a project?
Isn't the Docklands an area, not just a renewal project? Andjam 08:20, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
True. An interesting fact is that a job advertisment in the Age newspaper listed "Wikipedia" editing as a function under a Docklands marketing role! The article as it stands needs 90% of it rewritten to remove the VicUrban PR 203.57.241.67 04:36, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Encise
[edit] Number of Visitors
Is it reasonable to go from an estimate of 55,000 visitors per day to an estimate of over 2,000,000 per year? After all, doesn't this suppose that not one of the visitors makes a repeat visit in that one year?
[edit] Webb Bridge
Any information on this landmark pedestrian bridge ? --Biatch 03:31, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Removed image
I removed this image - it doesn't represent the specific Docklands precinct at all. invincible 05:16, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] NPOV / marketing speak
The Innovation building accommodates companies and education bodies with a strong emphasis on research and development, incubation and the commercialisation of innovation products cross-pollinating ideas between Australia's brightest and best technology tenants.
That line made me laugh. The second half of that sentence has zero substance and is full of buzzwords. I'm currently in the process of removing marketing spin from the article, there are a lot of lines similar lacking substance or full of unsubstantiated claims ("abcd is the best blah blah blah"). If 203.57.241.67's comments about VicUrban using employees to edit Wikipedia articles are true, I (and other editors) will not hesitate to remove anything that doesn't follow the Wikipedia guidelines.
In an Australian first, the new building will have an environment rating of at least 5 stars.
Also removed this comment regarding the ANZ headquarters because at best it's misleading and at worst, incorrect. Council House 2 in the Melbourne CBD already has a 6 star rating. [1]
The riverfront promenade incorporated into the development is an extension of the existing Southbank Promenade to the east.
Removed this because I don't believe that to be true. In between the Southbank promenade and Yarra's Edge is the exhibition centre, the under construction convention centre and a major road so I'd consider the two to be separate.
Most other stuff I've removed can be found in the diff of my edit.
