Mentz Schulerud

Mentz Schulerud (October 17, 1915-May 18, 2003) was a Norwegian author and radio personality best known for his encyclopaedic knowledge of the city of Oslo.
Schulerud grew up on Ringsaker, his sister is the famous children’s book author Anne-Cath. Vestly. After finishing his bachelor's degree in 1941, he started working for Norsk Rikskringkasting (NRK - the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation), in 1946. During the war he was also involved in the Norwegian resistance group called 830-S.[1] He later worked as editor of the magazine Vinduet (the Window, 1959-1963) and as director of Oslo Nye Teater (1962-1967).
Through his numerous radio programmes, articles and books, he vividly conveyed the history of the capital with anecdotes and biographical scetches, particularly relating to its artistic life.
