Michael Essany (born October 22, 1982 in Valparaiso, Indiana) is an American comedian and talk show host.
Essany has hosted The Michael Essany Show on local, national and international television for seven years. He is best remembered for two seasons on E! Entertainment television as host of his self-titled reality/talk series, executive produced by Leeza Gibbons.
A 2005 graduate of Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana, Essany has a degree in political science. Essany also writes a column for the local newspaper, The Times.
There has been speculation in the local media that Essany might run for mayor of Valparaiso in 2007. An unscientific online poll at nwi.com/bb in early 2006 showed Essany as the leading candidate among users who contributed to the survey.
In his first campaign, Essany ran for Center Township Trustee on the Democratic ticket in November 2006 and won 43% of the vote, placing second in a three-way race.
