[edit] Trivia
- Adelaide's Simon Goodwin became the first player to win the medal despite playing in the losing side when they were defeated by Geelong in 2006.
- Nick Stevens became the first player to win two Michael Tuck medals when Carlton defeated the Brisbane Lions in 2007, after previously winning it whilst playing for Port Adelaide in 2002.
- Tuck committed an amusing faux pas in 2005 when he himself accidentally referred to the medal as the Norm Smith Medal while presenting it (the Norm Smith Medal is awarded to the best-and-fairest player in the regular season grand final). He alluded to that incident prior to awarding the medal in 2007, subsequently putting emphasis on his own name when reading it out.
